Cottiscarth cottages

Cottiscarth Cottages are run by the Fraser family. Robbie and Eileen are joined by their daughter Ruth and her husband Christopher, along with their son David and his wife Anna. Even the grandchildren Alissa, and Callan help out. The family has farmed at Cottiscarth for seven generations and are very proud of their Orkney heritage.

The Cottages

The complex consists of three cottages built in 2019 to an extremely high standard.

“Hen Harrier” is a three bedroom cottage with the master bedroom incorporating an ensuite. There’s also another bathroom/toilet and a kitchen/dining/living area.

“Kestrel” and “Merlin” are both two bedroom units with a bathroom toilet and a kitchen/dining/living room area.

All three are centrally heated throughout with an underfloor system that uses a heat exchanger “air to water” system. All three have wireless wi-fi as well as a dishwasher and washing machine.

You also get a telescope to see the birdlife or simply watch the many boats coming and going from Kirkwall Harbour.
